Description: The Sweet Pea OS cover is designed to be used over your choice of absorbent diaper (eg flats, prefolds, fitteds). It is made with a single layer of PUL with contrasting binding around the edges. The cover features a snap-down rise to adjust the size, two rows of waist snaps, cross-over waist snaps and double leg gussets. This is a one size fits most cover.
First impressions: The Sweet Pea range of covers come in a range of unique and abstract prints which makes it stand out amongst other brands. The colour coordinated snaps and edging gives a nice polished look. The PUL is super stretchy and pliable which I really like. In terms of sizing, this one seems about average compared to other OS cover brands. Stitching is neat and even. [Rating: 3.5/5]
Ease of use: While there are no flaps inside to contribute to the ease of use score, the stretchy PUL makes the cover a little easier to wrestle onto your toddler as they're rolling away. The relatively thin PUL dries super fast which makes it great for hand washing in a pinch too. [Rating: 4/5]
Fit: The cut of this cover makes it fit best over snappi'd flats, prefolds and fitteds. We sometimes use padfolded flats in it, but then there is some slight poufiness in the crotch area, as pictured here (it's not super obvious in these photos though). I like that it has enough back coverage and crotch width to provide a comfortable fit over even bulky night-worthy fitteds. The waist/hip tabs are narrower than other brands so they come up higher on the thighs which I feel would be especially nice for chunky thighed babies as it won't cut across the thigh. At almost 12kg and 28 months, J still has plenty of room to grow in this cover. [Rating: 4/5]
Value for money: This is on the higher end of the price range for a cover, mostly due to our exchange rate and customs charges. It is good quality, however if you're on a strict budget it might not be the cover for you. [Rating: 3/5]
Performance: This cover hasn't disappointed us - it keeps pee and poop inside, where it belongs. Of course, as with all covers it does require you to use an absorbent enough diaper to cope with your baby's output underneath the cover. It's been through quite a few washes and still looks good as new. Even though the PUL is thin, it seems very durable. [Rating: 5/5]
Overall impression: This is a good-looking, good quality cover. The stretchy PUL and generous cut makes it perfect for use over snappi'd prefolds and fitteds. So if you're a fan of fitteds or looking for a night nappy cover, gives this cover a go!
