Review: Tyrilove Snapless Fitted

Description: The Tyrilove Snapless Fitted  consists of a printed outer layer of an outer layer of hemp fleece, another hidden layer of hemp fleece and athletic wicking jersey* interior lining. It comes with a sandwich petal insert and snap-in snake style booster giving you 12 - 16 layers of hemp fleece depending on how you fold the booster. The insert is topped with athletic wicking jersey* to match the interior lining.  Since it's snapless, you require a snappy to fasten it around baby. The version I tested has overlocked/serged edges, but it is also available in turned and topstitched.

* or cotton velour or organic bamboo velour

First impressions:  This nappy looks plain at first glance, but then you notice the details like the rainbow serge and contrasting interior lining which takes it up that notch. Of course, since it's a custom made nappy, you can choose any colours and details you desire. The teal interior on this specific nappy is gorgeous. The nappy is very neatly made.

Ease of use: These do require a cover and a snappy to fasten, so they do take a little bit more effort than a one-step nappy. The fold down rise and snake style booster may also require a bit of tweaking in terms of fit if you're not used to that in a cloth nappy. Once you get the hang of it is pretty straightforward to assemble and put on though. As is typical with natural fibers, this nappy does take a while to dry, especially since the entire shell consists of double layer hemp fleece as well.

Fit: Being snapless, these are very customizable and forgiving in terms of fit. I found that I could even fold down the rise a little bit still, which means there is still room to grow in the rise. And as you can see on the waist, there is still room to grow there as well. The nappy fits snugly on my son and it feels less bulky than some other fitteds I've tried. For a smaller baby you could also remove the snap in booster for a trimmer fit.

Value for money: Price wise this nappy is quite well priced I feel, especially considering that it is handmade to your preferences.

Performance: It might not look like it (since it's fairly trim), but this nappy is super thirsty and would make a great night nappy in my opinion. From my absorbency tests it can absorb a total of 428ml, which makes it suitable for medium to heavy wetters as  is. And since the fit is so customisable, it would be easy to add additional boosters inside as well should you need it. For daytime use this nappy would be great for even extreme heavy wetters

Overall impression: This is one of a handful of snapless fitteds I've tried and I must say it's a very underrated style of cloth nappy. It has the convenience of a fitted as well as the adjustability of a prefold so you should be able to get a great fit no matter what body shape your little one has. The Tyrilove snapless fitted is very thirsty, well priced and neatly made - what's not to love? I highly recommend trying one out.
